QUALITY CONTROL TECHNICIAN

Job Summary:

The Quality Technician is responsible for monitoring the overall plant and product quality in accordance with the Quality Control Systems in place throughout the facility. Ensure adherence to good manufacturing practices (GMP), food safety, Safe Quality Food (SQF) standards and product quality standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Verify blending and packaging room and equipment setup
  • Review Batch Production Record for documentation accuracy and completion
  • Responsible for the following duties:
    • Sampling, sample retentions, sample submission for testing
    • QC blending line clearance
    • QC blending batch record review and completion
    • QC Packaging line clearance and first article inspections
    • WC hold and release
    • QC packaging batch record review and completion
    • Product fulfilment according to specification
    • Disposition for minor non-conformances
  • Coordinate environmental monitoring and hygiene
  • Assist in audits and regulatory document requests
  • Enforce compliance with cGMP, GDP and handwashing policies throughout the facility
  • Assist in investigations to resolve product and process issues related to quality and compliance
  • Assist Quality Supervisor as needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements:

  • 1-2 years of Quality Assurance/Quality Control experience in a Food Product Manufacturing environment or similar experience
  • May be required to work some holidays/weekends
  • Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively, both in writing and verbally
  • Must be able to follow detailed instructions accurately

Additional Abilities:

  • Managerial experience a plus
  • Familiarity with FDA Regulations, GMPs, HACCP, and SOPs
  • HACCP training a plus
  • Detailed and analytic oriented abilities
